White musk used the traditional way — as the soft landing beneath something richer. Cardamom and pink pepper open it, damask rose forms the heart, and white musk with sandalwood carries the base. Our most formal musk fragrance and the one built for weddings and evening events.

An honest map of the market, because "musk" covers several quite different products.

Musk attar and perfume oil. Concentrated, non-alcoholic oils sold in 3–12ml bottles — white musk, black musk, Musk Al Tahara and branded Middle Eastern oils. Roughly Rs.500 to Rs.13,000 depending on the house and size. Intense, long-lasting, applied in drops rather than sprays.

A note on comparing prices. Check the bottle size first. Most musk sprays sold under Rs.3,000 in Pakistan are 50ml; every La Senteur bottle is 100ml. And an attar priced at Rs.5,000 for 12ml is not cheaper than a 100ml EDP — it's a different product with a different application entirely.

A lot of people searching for musk in Pakistan are looking for attar — the concentrated oil, applied in drops, traditionally worn to the mosque and on Fridays. If that's what you want, we don't make it, and we'd rather say so than sell you the wrong thing.

What La Senteur makes is alcohol-based Eau de Parfum. The practical differences:

Attar is oil-based and non-alcoholic. It sits close to the skin, lasts a very long time, and one bottle goes a long way. It doesn't project much, which is either the point or the drawback depending on what you want.

Eau de Parfum carries further, develops through top, heart and base notes over the wear, and covers a room rather than an arm's length. A La Senteur EDP gives 6–8 hours with 5–6 sprays.

Two terms come up constantly in searches, and both deserve a straight answer.

"Pure musk." Historically musk came from the musk deer, which is why it was among the most expensive materials in perfumery. That trade is banned under international convention, and the animal is protected. Every musk in modern commercial perfumery — every house, everywhere, at every price — is either a plant-derived musk such as ambrette, or a synthetic white musk. Anyone marketing genuine deer musk in Pakistan today is either mistaken or selling something they shouldn't be. This is worth knowing before you pay a premium for the word "pure."

"Original musk." In practice this usually means two worries: is this an authentic bottle rather than a counterfeit, and is it what the label says. Musk rewards restraint less than most notes. Because it sits close to the skin, under-applying a musk fragrance is a more common mistake than over-applying one — the opposite of oud.
